President
Pratyush Gopalsalmy
Honourable Advisors, Fellow Student Officers, Passionate Delegates, and Most-Esteemed Guests,
My name is Pratyush Gopalsamy, a junior at the International Bilingual School of Hsinchu Science Park, and it is my utmost honour to serve as your ICJ President for the very first KMUN. My passion for MUN started in the 7th grade, where I was initially a nervous delegate that barely gave any speeches. From there, I have grown into a better public speaker, debater, and speech-writer, and hope to develop myself further on this MUN journey. I am particularly passionate about the International Court of Justice Committee, as its rigorous proceedings and complex legal issues have always intrigued me. Outside of MUN, I enjoy watching European football and engaging in parliamentary debates. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, and I look forward to seeing you all this February!
Deputy President
Fiona Huang
Distinguished Advisors, Fellow Student Officers, Dedicated Delegates, and Esteemed Guests,
My name is Fiona Huang, a senior, and it is a privilege to serve as your ICJ Deputy President for the inaugural KMUN conference. I have been participating in Model United Nations since the 6th grade, and over the years, the experience has helped me grow as a speaker, debater, and collaborator. MUN has challenged me to think critically, communicate clearly, and engage respectfully with differing perspectives.
I am especially drawn to the International Court of Justice for its emphasis on legal reasoning, accountability, and structured debate. I enjoy examining complex global issues through a judicial lens and working within the discipline that the ICJ demands. Beyond the conference setting, I enjoy literature, film, music, and video games, which often influence how I think about storytelling, ethics, and conflict. I look forward to seeing you all this February!
